We are looking for a collaborative and self-motivated 
Technical Writer to lead the creation and maintenance of our enterprise data dictionary and Master Data Management (MDM) documentation, as well as contribute to other technical documentation.  

In this role, you’ll transform complex data concepts into clear, accessible language and ensure that every teamfrom engineering to analytics, shares a common understanding of our data assets. You’ll also support the continuous creation and refinement of technical documentation for our products. 
 
You’ll play a central role in shaping how our organization defines, manages, and communicates its most valuable asset-data. This is a great opportunity for a technically minded communicator who thrives on bringing structure and clarity to complex information.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive data dictionary covering business and technical definitions. 

  • Document MDM frameworks, including entity definitions, data sources, and governance processes. 

  • Collaborate with data architects and engineers to validate metadata and ensure consistency. 

  • Collaborate with product developers to discover source data elements. 

  • Standardize terminology, naming conventions, and data lineage documentation. 

  • Support data governance initiatives through clear, audit-ready documentation. 

  • Promote awareness and adoption of data documentation across the organization. 

  • Work with engineering teams to update or create technical documentation for our products, as needed. 

 

Who You Are: 

  • You’re a highly technical person who understands data systems inside and out.  

  • You enjoy diving deep into databases, metadata, and data models, and you know how to turn that complexity into clear, structured documentation.  

  • You thrive in close collaboration with data engineers and other stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and a shared understanding across all technical materials. 

 
 

What You’ll Need:    

  • 3+ years of experience in technical writing within a data, IT, or analytics environment. 

  • Strong understanding of data modeling, metadata, and database systems. 

  • Proven ability to document data dictionaries, MDM systems, or governance frameworks. 

  • Excellent writing and editing skills. 

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, and the ability to share information about data documentation with a range of stakeholders. 

  • Familiarity with tools such as Confluence, SharePoint, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue or AWS QuickSight. 

  • Bonus: Experience with data governance programs or data quality initiatives.
