Run to Standard (RTS) Engineer

We’re looking for a driven Run to Standard (RTS) Engineer to join our Manufacturing team within our Winnipeg Head Office located at 140 Otter Street.

As a RTS Engineer, you will focus on recording and improving OEE performance (Yield, Uptime, Line speed) by ensuring that operational targets and machine parameters are met efficiently and effectively and within control limits. RTS engineer will work closely with Press shift teams to understand and troubleshoot OEE detractors and to guide and monitor process control window adherence.

Collaborating with other technical groups on performance analysis and assessment, trouble shooting and process improvement. You will also take responsibility for promoting and enabling the sharing and implementation of internal and external industry best practices throughout the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and maintain manufacturing standards and machine parameters including procedures and guidelines related to production and testing.
  • Be a liaison for R&D trials and new projects introduction.
  • Responsible for MIS OEE database , valid information and use by shifts
  • Assist the press room leadership with daily communications to the shift.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate standards into product design and development processes.
  • Perform regular audit to ensure standards are being followed and parameters collected properly. Including Vision system, recipe management system, various on press data and measurements.
  • Analyze data to for trend reporting, process improvement and product reliability.
  • Develop recommendations for automation of parameter collection and data recording.
  • Collaborate closely with lab personal, assigned process engineers and RTS Engineer in other plants.
  • Provide training and support to line personnel and use data for preparing training needs analysis.
  • Oversee and manage manufacturing content management found on MIS and other repositories.
  • Be a constant presence on the shop floor, estimate at least 1/3 of the work hours on the floor.
  • Act as a partner and resource to line supervision; collaborate on daily and regular review meetings.
  • Participate and be a member of extended corporate engineering group.

What You'll Bring

  • Post-Secondary BS in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, Commerce and Engineering or other engineering disciplines considered
  • 2 + years in a Manufacturing industry in a similar role capacity,
  • Experience developing and editing engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans.
  • Strong computer skills; MS office, SPC, Query Language, CAD/CAM
  • Experience  with ERP software is an asset
  • Experience in printing and converting, packaging, or finishing environment processing of paper, foil and film is an asset.
  • Knowledge of flexographic, offset and digital printing and related technologies (i.e. plate-making, pre-press, etc.), is an asset.
  • Ability to travel within Canada and the USA.
