
Internal Auditor

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer, as well as indirectly the Audit Committee of Pollard Banknote Limited, this exciting position will develop and grow the internal audit function at Pollard Banknote. The incumbent will support the Pollard Banknote group of companies in achieving its strategic directions by implementing a systematic and disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management and internal controls.
Based out of our Winnipeg office, this role will be responsible for the development of the strategic and annual internal audit plan as well as performing detailed internal audit procedures throughout all of the Pollard Banknote group of companies.

What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain the strategic (five-year) and annual internal audit plans using a risk-based approach.
- Assess Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) documentation in conjunction with the internal audit plan and identify new or changed risks as the underlying business evolves.
- Execute internal audits end-to-end: plan, test, report findings, and track remediation.
- Provide clear, actionable recommendations and summary reports to Senior Management and the Audit Committee.
- Develop and conduct formal reviews of ICFR and DCP design and evaluate ICFR and DCP through detailed testing as required under current certification processes for the securities regulation.
- Coordinate activities with the Finance department during year-end and liaise with external auditors as required.
- Assist in investigations of suspected fraudulent activities under the direction of Senior Management or the Audit Committee.
- Undertake special projects and ad hoc assignments as requested by Senior Management or the Audit Committee.

What You'll Bring
- 3-5 years of recent experience in an internal or external audit environment.
- Post-secondary degree in Commerce (or equivalent field of study).
- Professional accounting designation (CPA) with a minimum of two years’ post-qualifying experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of internal controls, financial accounting, and audit procedures.
- Experience developing risk-based audit plans and producing audit reports for leadership.
- Thorough knowledge of audit procedures including planning, techniques, test and sampling methods.
- Ability to maintain current knowledge related to accounting, audit and securities legislation and new auditing techniques and practices
- Proficiency with Excel, database software and related IT processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- CFE, CISA, or CIA designation is considered an asset.
