We’re looking for an influential Staff Engineer to join our team remotely. Preference will be given to candidates located in Eastern or Central time zones.
As a Staff Engineer, you will be a key technical leader driving the evolution of our Catalyst platform. You’ll influence technical strategy across teams, tackle complex engineering challenges, and ensure our platforms are scalable, secure, and resilient. This role combines deep technical expertise with high organizational impact—enabling teams, mentoring engineers, and shaping long-term technology direction. This is an enabling role focused on supporting and accelerating the capabilities of our stream-aligned development teams. This role emphasizes influence and enablement—helping teams make sound architectural decisions without creating bottleneck.

What You'll Do
- Lead technical initiatives that span multiple global teams and systems.
- Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and technical leaders to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Design, advocate for, and support microservice-based architectures, ensuring services are independently deployable, observable, and resilient.
- Define and maintain architectural standards, patterns, and guidelines, including documentation and communication of key decisions.
- Provide hands-on support and mentorship to engineering teams, performing code and design reviews to ensure adherence to architecture principles.
- Lead the selection and integration of appropriate technologies, tools, and platforms for application development.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies including AI/ML tooling to enhance developer productivity and platform capabilities.
- Ensure architecture supports regulatory and security requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, PCI-DSS).
- Actively participate in system design, capacity planning, and performance optimization efforts.
- Improve developer experience and operational reliability.
- Communicate technical vision and trade-offs to executives and stakeholder.

What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s or greater degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of Software Engineering experience with at least 2+ years of experience leading system-level design or architectural srategy.
- Proven experience designing and developing distributed, cloud-native architecture and deployment models using a microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native development in public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Demonstrated experience implementing AI/ML-driven development tools or workflows to accelerate engineering velocity and quality.
- Ability to lead technical strategy and unblock teams.
- Strong knowledge of system integration, API design, and modern software design principles.
- Familiarity with performance engineering, security design, and operational excellence.
