Manager, Corporate Applications

We’re looking for a collaborative Manager,  Corporate Applications to join our IT Development team at our Winnipeg head office located at 140 Otter Street. 

As a Corporate Applications Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our corporate application portfolio supporting our business shared services functions, including Finance, Payroll, HR, and Legal. This includes the ERP – Finance system and associated applications.  As such, familiarity with cloud-based ERP solutions will be important (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365) as well as applications such as Microsoft 365, Payroll and HRIS systems.

You will lead a group of analysts and support staff, provide direction for application onboarding, support, integration, and oversee projects through all phases of implementation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless integration, optimizing system performance, and providing strategic guidance to enhance operational efficiency across the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee the implementation, support, configuration, and optimization of corporate applications in the areas of Finance, HR, Payroll, Legal, Sales, and other enterprise systems.
  • Lead integration efforts between corporate applications and external third-party applications.
  • Manage system updates, patches, and upgrades for the Finance, HR, Payroll, and Legal systems and other assigned corporate applications to ensure they are functioning at peak performance.
  • Work with internal teams and external vendors to design, develop, and implement integrations that improve business processes.
  • Ensure seamless data flow and real-time synchronization between applications to support business operations.
  • Identify and resolve technical and non-technical issues that may arise during the development process.
  • Provide ongoing support for all relevant systems, addressing issues, troubleshooting, and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Coordinate with technical teams and vendors to resolve complex system issues.
  • Monitor and evaluate system performance, identify bottlenecks or inefficiencies, and implement solutions.
  • Provide work estimates and manage team schedule and project backlog to improve organizational visibility into the work being performed.
  • Liaise with the internal business teams to translate business objectives into technical requirements.
  • Lead and manage projects related to the rollout, enhancement, or optimization of corporate applications, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders across departments (Finance, HR, Legal, IT, Sales, Operations) to identify needs and priorities for system improvements.
  • Drive department continuous improvement, standardization, and process initiatives.
  • Understand the corporate vision for software products and set appropriate goals and objectives for the development team.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Stay informed of industry best practices, trends, and new technologies to identify new opportunities to help improve standards, coding practices and delivery

What You'll Bring

  • 3+ years of proven experience in managing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications, with a focus on Finance, HR, Payroll and CRM systems
  • 3+ years demonstrated leadership experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
  • Understanding of business processes in areas such as Finance, Sales, Suppy Chain Management, HR, and Payroll.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing priorities with agility.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and facilitate discussion to solve complex problems.
  • Experience managing the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of corporate applications
  • A strong asset for this role would be to have working experience and knowledge of cloud based ERP Finance systems (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics 365) and their deployment/integration.
