Senior Tax Analyst

Pollard Banknote Limited is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Tax Analyst to join our growing Finance team! This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a well-established and reputable organization in a dynamic industry. 

In this role, you will collaborate across departments, supporting the Director of Taxation and Financial Managers with tax compliance, tax accounting, and special projects.

This position is based at our Head Office in Winnipeg. For candidates currently located outside Winnipeg, relocation will be required.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare quarterly and annual tax provisions, along with notes for financial statements.
  • Gather documentation for annual tax return preparation, manage payments, and handle other compliance matters.
  • Prepare schedules for transfer pricing documentation.
  • Maintain and utilize Onesource tax provision software effectively.
  • Oversee the research and development cost tracking process and collaborate with manufacturing and other departments to develop management reports and annual tax claims.
  • Respond to tax audits as required.
  • Research and analyze changes in tax laws, including sales and local taxes, and provide recommendations.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in accounting/finance. Experience in a manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years’ experience preparing tax provisions. Preference will be given to applicants with both Canadian and U.S tax experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to collaborate effectively and drive projects to completion.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong initiative with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements.
  • CPA designation (or legacy equivalent).
  • Completion of the In-Depth Tax Program (Levels 1 & 2) is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with Tax provision software such as Onesource Tax Provision, Bloomberg Tax, Hyperion Tax Provision, TaxPrep etc. is considered an asset.
