We’re looking for well focused Packing Line 2nd Operator to join our Finishing team within our Ypsilanti Plant at 775 James L Hart Parkway. 

The Packing Line 2nd Operator is responsible for set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of the shrink wrap machine, insert equipment and scanning station camera systems. The Packing Line 2nd Operator works in conjunction with the Packing Line Operator to monitor the quality of product moving
through the automated line and ensure that production targets are achieved.

What You'll Do

• Primary role is to assist Packing Line Operator to ensure smooth operation of the line
• Must be able to perform all setup and troubleshoot all features of the automation line. This would include but not limited to the book reorientation device, book breaker, transfer, bump and turn, packager, insert printer, film splicer, scanning station cameras etc.
• Monitor the quality of the product that is being produced
• Perform routine preventive maintenance as required on the equipment
• Replace Packing Line Operator when they are away from their position
• Assist with other duties as assigned

Quailifications

Education

• High School Diploma or GED

• Strong working knowledge of computer applications
• Strong mechanical and analytical skills
• Ability to work well with numbers

• Prior packaging experience a plus
